South Burnett Works for Queensland (W4Q) Funding 2024-27
At Council’s Ordinary Meeting held on Wednesday 19 June 2024, Council endorsed the submission of a list of nominated projects under the 2024-27 Works for Queensland (W4Q) Program,
for assessment by the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works.
Councillors were each allocated $1.2m for projects within their divisions, with Mayor Duff’s allocation of $1.2m to be spent on the entire South Burnett region.
Project allocations were under the following categories:
- Liveability Infrastructure Community Facilities $ 1,100,000
- Liveability Infrastructure Parks $ 1,555,303
- Organisational Excellence $ 420,000
- Transport Infrastructure Drainage $ 1,012,214
- Transport Infrastructure Kerb & Medians $ 1,517,169
- Transport Infrastructure Roads $ 2,045,314
- WWW Infrastructure $ 790,000
Mayor Kathy Duff said, “I am very happy that the total funding of $8.44m, will be distributed fairly across the region to improve job opportunities and stimulate economic growth.”
The $300 million 2024-27 Works for Queensland Program (W4Q) funding round will support the 65 Councils outside of South East Queensland to deliver local projects that create jobs, deliver better infrastructure and services, and improve the lives of Queenslanders now and into the future.
