South Burnett Regional Council funds four Projects with Queensland Government Regional Arts Funding

The South Burnett Regional Council, in collaboration with the Queensland Government Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) program,

is thrilled to announce $11,909 in round 2 RADF grants towards inspiring projects within the region, reinforcing the Council's commitment to regional art development.

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and South Burnett Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
Cr Potter announced that the South Burnett Regional Council has approved arts grants for the following projects:

  • CTC South Burnett - $3,000 for a mural workshop for young people creation of three small murals at the CTC Youth Park.
  • Noosa Film Academy - $3,000 for a one-day screen play and acting for screen production workshop to 30 participants and 298 youth audience at St Mary's Catholic College Kingaroy
  • Kingaroy State School P & C - $2,909 for a textiles - fabric bookmark workshops with Toni Phillips-Petersen.
  • "The Imagination Studio" – $3,000 to present an innovative community art project designed to foster growth, resilience, and creativity across generations.

“More than $26,000 in funding has been allocated in 2023/2024 to recipients of RADF grants, this funding has supported the arts community in our region for several years, and it’s exciting to see our communities’ ideas come to fruition through this fund. We congratulate all our successful applicants,” Cr Potter said.

Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Queensland Government’s successful, long-term partnership with local governments through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) supports the delivery of hundreds of arts experiences, employment opportunities and capacity building for arts and cultural workers across the state.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthen local communities and drive economic outcomes through arts and culture, the Queensland Government provided $2.184 million for RADF 2023-24 to 59 local Councils who have contributed a co-investment of $1.979 million,” Minister Enoch said.

“The Queensland Government’s Creative Together 2020-2030 roadmap prioritises activation of Queensland’s places and spaces and arts engagement that drives positive change for Queensland communities. Projects funded through RADF support communities to share stories and creativity, provide important pathways for learning and connection, and boost local creative economies and tourism.”
