Kingaroy Water Discolouration
South Burnett Regional Council wishes to advise that they are currently aware of the discoloured water affecting parts of South West Kingaroy.
Last night Council’s water treatment plant was protected from a grass fire by the Queensland Fire Department and the Rural Fire Service. Unfortunately Council’s rising main experienced some fire damage to valves and had to be shut down and repaired through the night. This repair and re-charging of the water main has caused discolouration in parts of the water network.
Council crews are currently working to isolate the discoloured water and have commenced flushing of water mains.
Council would like to acknowledge the work of the Queensland Fire Department, the Rural Fire Service and Council staff in responding to the incident.
Council apologises for any inconvenience and encourages residents to report discoloured water by contacting Council on 4189 9100 or email info@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
