Funding Boost for South Burnett Arts Projects through Arts Queensland and Council Partnership

Back

South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to announce a significant funding boost for local arts projects,

with a total of $70,000 allocated through a combination of a $42,000 grant from Arts Queensland and a $28,000 contribution from the Council for the 2024/2025 financial year.

The funding, provided through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), will be used to support a diverse range of community-driven arts, culture, and heritage projects. This initiative aims to promote artistic excellence, foster local talent, and ensure inclusive and accessible creative experiences for all residents of the South Burnett region.

Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) will continue to boost arts and cultural experiences in communities across Queensland with combined funding of more than $5 million in 2024-2025.

Each year RADF projects involve more than 500,000 Queenslanders, activating spaces and places, sharing stories and strengthening communities, which are key priorities of the Government’s Creative Together 2020-2030 roadmap.

“The Miles Government is doing what matters, supporting access to arts and culture, no matter where you live in Queensland. This commitment ensures programs like RADF will continue to support communities across Queensland to prepare for the opportunities presented by the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games,” the Minister said.

South Burnett Regional Council’s Mayor Kathy Duff expressed gratitude for the funding and highlighted the positive impact it will have on the community.

The Council looks forward to collaborating with local artists, cultural groups, and community members to develop and deliver innovative projects that celebrate the region's artistic diversity and cultural heritage.
