South Burnett Regional Council funds two Projects with Queensland Government Regional Arts Funding
The South Burnett Regional Council, in collaboration with the Queensland Government Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) program,
is thrilled to announce $6,000 in round 1 RADF grants towards inspiring projects within the region, reinforcing the Council's commitment to regional art development.
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and South Burnett Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. Cr Potter announced that the South Burnett Regional Council has approved arts grants for the following projects:
- Bunya Mountains Community Association Inc. - $3,000 for a textiles - Bunya Mountains Art of the Forest Experience.
- Melanie Doheny – $3,000 to deliver Grant writing and project planning workshops for artists.
"South Burnett Regional Council has $55,000 allocated to fund Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) projects for the 2024/25 period. The next round of funding will open in February 2025, providing an opportunity for local artists and community groups to apply for support in delivering creative projects that enhance the cultural vibrancy of our region", Cr Potter said.
Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) will boost arts and cultural experiences in communities across Queensland with combined funding of more than $5 million in 2024/25.
“The Queensland Government’s increased investment in RADF to $2.42 million will enhance the successful, long-term partnership with local councils, who will also grow their contribution to $2.66 million – a total boost of almost $1 million on last year,” Minister Enoch said.
