Air Scouring - Various Locations around South Burnett

Back

As a part of Council’s routine maintenance programs and commitment to ensure the long term sustainability and efficiency of our water infrastructure,

Council will be conducting air scouring week commencing Monday 21 October 2024.

Air scouring is a mixture of water and compressed air which is forced into the mains to remove sediment and maintain disinfection levels within the water supply network. Benefits include:

  • Improving the efficiency and reliability of our water network
  • Ensuring delivery of safe drinking water to meet Australian Drinking Water Guidelines

Affected residents will receive notification by a letterbox drop. Should you notice an interruption to the water supply, toilets may be satisfactorily flushed by quickly discharging a 10-litre bucket of water in the pedestal.

Council apologises for any inconvenience that this work may cause, and thanks you in advance for your patience.

Please direct any enquiries to Council’s Water and Wastewater team by phoning (07) 4189 9100 or email info@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
