Kingaroy Weighbridge Reopens
South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to advise all customers that the Kingaroy Weighbridge is now fully operational from Wednesday 23 October 2024,
after a devastating lightning strike a fortnight ago that rendered the weighbridge inoperable.
Mayor Duff said, “the extensive damage presented the opportunity to upgrade the weighbridge with newer technologies that should now service the bridge for the next decade or so.”
The repairs took two days to complete, after receipt of the replacement parts. The facility has been fully tested, calibrated, and verified and is now open for use.
“We appreciate that the weighbridge closure has been an inconvenience for some of our users, however the team have worked expeditiously to have the repairs actioned in the earliest time possible. I thank everyone for their patience, and the council team and contractors who have worked to repair the bridge this week”, Mayor Duff said.
