Community Consultation Sessions: Flying Fox Roost Management Plan – Taromeo Creek Blackbutt

South Burnett Regional Council invites Blackbutt residents to meet with Council representatives,

Queensland Health Representatives, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services representatives & Redleaf’s Senior Ecologist to discuss:

  1. Short- and long-term actions identified in the Flying Foxes Roost Management Plan - Blackbutt (Council Resolution 2024/240)
  2. Human and Animal Health Concerns – how to manage noise, odour and disease
  3. Understanding Flying Fox protection and permit requirements

Cr Linda Little said, “Council is taking the concerns of the local residents very seriously and we are looking forward to working closely with the community to come up with a workable plan.”

Consultations will be held in the Blackbutt Customer Service Office, 69 Hart Street Blackbutt on the following dates and times: 

  • Monday 2 December 2024 – 9.00am to 12.00pm
  • Tuesday 3 December 2024 – 9.00am to 12.00pm
  • Wednesday 4 December 2024 – 2.00pm to 7.00pm
