The South Burnett hosts the QICA Conference

The QICA Conference (Queensland Information Centre Association) is a 3-day conference showcasing the host’s area.

This year the South Burnett is hosting the conference, with delegates attending the conference from across Queensland who manage and run Visitor Information Centres.

The conference started on Monday night with the soft opening at the Kingaroy RSL. The official opening was held at the Kingaroy Forecourt today, followed by a visit to the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre (VIC), Museum and Art Gallery and the Wondai VIC and Museum. Tonight,
Bjelke-Petersen Dam will be hosting glamping with a pig on the spit and local entertainment.

Mayor Duff and Councillors will be cooking breakfast at the Bjelke-Petersen Dam for the delegates on Wednesday morning. The delegates then travel to Roy Emerson Museum, go shopping in Blackbutt and then visit Ringsfield House. The day finishes at the Kingaroy RSL for a networking dinner.

On Thursday the delegates will visit the Dairy Museum at Murgon for the morning, Murgon RSL for lunch and the day concludes with a Gala Night at the Kingaroy Town Hall.

Guest speakers, both local and from other areas, including volunteers, has been arranged, to talk about the Kingaroy Heritage Museum, Ringsfield House and the Dairy Museum.
