Active Women and Girls Program in the South Burnett
The Department of Sport, Racing and Olympics and Paralympic Games provided $25,000 to South Burnett Regional Council to deliver a range of recreational activities for women and girls in rural townships. The Active Women and Girls Program has been created to enable Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities.
South Burnett mums, daughters, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, carers, and friends can sign up to the free activities including:
- Yoga in Proston Town Hall and Murgon Town Hall
- Line Dancing at Wondai Town Hall
- Aqua Aerobics at Wondai Swimming Pool
- Aqua Box at Murgon Swimming Pool
Classes will run for a six-week period with the first classes starting in the first week of January 2025. Register here.
To kick start the program there will be two Learn to Skate with Chiggy workshops on Tuesday
17 December 2024.
- Kumbia Recreational Reserve – 8am to 12pm
- Blackbutt Skate Park – 2pm to 6pm
There will be two more Learn to Skate with Chiggy workshops on:
- Saturday 18 January 2025 at the Murgon Skate Park
- Sunday 19 January 2025 at the Proston Skate Park
This is an all-age free event with all equipment provided and a great way for the kids to start the school holidays.
