The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) Stands Down

Back

The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) met this morning and has moved to Stand Down with last night’s direct flooding emergency now passed.

Council along with other government agencies will continue their response to the community and infrastructure damage.

Last night’s flash flooding has caused significant damage and disruption to Council’s and the state road network in the South Burnett. Council and Transport and Main Roads (TMR) are currently inspecting the network for priority repairs which will take some time. Some roads may remain closed until repairs are undertaken.

Council’s disaster dashboard is provided as a guide to the community, information on the dashboard is updated periodically.

Flash flooding and road damage can occur quickly and without warning. Road closures or road damage due to flash flooding are not always recorded on the Disaster Dashboard.

Remember, always drive to the conditions, and if it's flooded, forget it.

The dashboard will be updated throughout the coming days as the roads reopen.

Council urges the public to report flooded and damaged roads to Council by calling 4189 9100.

Council thanks the community for their understanding and patience as the coming days and weeks will likely present significant damage to the network that will take days and weeks to inspect and repair.
