Upgrades to Lions Park Nanango

Back

South Burnett Regional Council, in collaboration with the Nanango Lions Club, have provided valuable upgrades to Lions Park in Nanango.

After the park sustained damage during a storm in early 2022, the Nanango Lions Club applied and were successful in obtaining funding from the Community Gambling Benefit Fund.

Council thanks the Lions Club for their partnership, providing two new wheelchair friendly table settings, wheelchair BBQ and shelter, concrete paths and shade cloth over the playground. The inclusion of wheelchair friendly table settings and BBQs, aligns the Nanango Lions Park with others in the region.

Council’s Grant Officer assisted the Lions Club with their grant application, with additional funding provided by Council’s Capital Works Program 24/25 under the “Priority Playground Audit – Equipment Replacement” to install a new disability swing set.  The rubber Softfall was funded under Council’s “Softfall Replacement” Capital Works Program.

“It is exciting to see the upgrades to the park that will create an accessible space for all to enjoy”, said Deputy Mayor Cr Jane Erkens.
