UPDATE - Lamb Street, Murgon-CBD Footpath, Kerb and Channel Replacement
As part of South Burnett Regional Council’s 2020 works program, the replacement of Murgon’s CBD footpath along Lamb Street between Krebs Street and Gore Street has progressed, with the footpath in the initial stages of demolition. Detailed planning has preceded works in order to ensure all business can remain operational during the construction.
The majority of works are scheduled to be delivered at night between 6pm-6am, with additional supporting tasks being undertaken during standard working hours as required.
In the last week, Council has completed the majority of the awning post replacements. Details of what activities are planned for the remainder of week commencing Monday 17 February 2020; and scheduled works for the week commencing Sunday 23 February 2020 are outlined below.
Week commencing Monday 17 February 2020
Stage 1 of the Demolition works commenced on Monday evening at 6:00pm and continued during night works. Demolition works will finish Friday morning allowing for standard weekend activities. Pedestrian detours and ramps will be installed providing safe access to all business. The works will result in the partial closure of the service lane and parking areas directly adjacent to the work zones. Works occurring during standard working hours will include surveying and communication infrastructure relocation.
Works will be contained within the work zone adjacent to the intersection of Krebs and Lamb Streets, as indicated in the image below, with addition works area (as highlighted) to be established in the following week.
Week commencing Sunday 23 February 2020
Concrete pours at the intersection of Krebs and Lamb Streets will commence Sunday evening at 6:00pm and continue during night works. These works are scheduled to be completed by the end of the week.
A new demolition work zone will be set up between the Dog Wash and the Bakery on Sunday evening as highlighted in the following image.
