Notice of Upcoming Roadworks, Mundubbera-Durong Road
Dept of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has advised Council that works will soon commence to rehabilitate a section of Mundubbera-Durong Rd, between the West Boondooma Rd & Shellytop Rd intersections.
Works involve strengthening and stabilising the existing pavement to make the road safer for motorists, to improve the longevity of the road and to minimise the need for future maintenance. Line-marking and signage upgrades, construction of new roadside drainage and some culvert maintenance will also be carried out during the works.
TMR will also improve safety along this section of Mundubbera-Durong Road by clearing the designated clear zones on either side of the road to ensure they are free of obstructions. This allows vehicles which stray off the road to recover without causing significant damage to either the vehicles or its occupants.
Roadworks are scheduled to commence on 2 March 2020 and are expected to take about three months to complete, weather permitting.
RoadTek will be delivering the road rehabilitation, with works generally occurring Monday to Friday between 6am and 6pm.
Motorists should be aware of changed traffic conditions including reduced speeds, lane closures and stop-go traffic controllers. There may be minor traffic delays during the works and drivers are urged to drive to the conditions and observe all traffic controller directions.
TMR thanks the community for its patience while this work is being completed and should you require further information please contact our communication team in Bundaberg on 1300 728 390 during business hours or by emailing bundaberg.office@tmr.qld.gov.au.
